Courtney Snell - Incumbent

My name is Courtney and I have been a member of Tc3 for the past 2 years. Last year I took the plunge and competed in my first Olympic distance triathlon and am looking forward to tackling my first 1/2 Ironman in 2016. I have 3 children, teach cycling classes at GB3, and own a small business. I am just like you and have a busy life, but triathlons are what keep me sane.

I served on the board last year and would appreciate the chance to serve again. I loved watching the club grow and enjoyed helping members get involved. Tc3 had helped me grow in this sport, and as a person, and I strive to give back as much as I can.

I started running in 2010 to lose weight following bariatric surgery. Shortly after I took up cycling as a way to spend time with my family members who did the same.

In 2014 I decided to try a sprint triathlon near my hometown (Bass Lake Triathlon) and I was hooked! I love TC3 and cheering everyone on and encouraging members in this crazy sport we all love!

Growing up I was into athletics my entire life. After playing college level volleyball I was looking for a way to stay in shape and compete. I got into the sport of triathlon on a dare by my brother 6 years ago and have been competing ever since. Since then I have completed 4 Ironman races, 8 70.3 races and numerous sprint and olympic distance races. In the process I have become a sponsored athlete by Hammer Nutrition, Trisports.com, Rudy Project and Xterra. I achieved Ironman All World Athlete status in 2015 and 2016 and have also qualified for USAT nationals several years in a row.

My strength is in the water. I grew up swimming and doing many activities in the water such as wakeboarding, watersking, surfing and more. At age 12 I received my scuba diving license and at age 18 I became a suba diving instructor. I just recently placed 50th out of the water overall and 10th in his AG at Iornman Lake Tahoe.

I want to join the TC3 board because I have a passion to see people succeed and grow into their abilities. I am familiar with coaching and have coached varsity girls volleyball, elementary track and music leadership courses. I am currently involved with coaching students with ICantri youth club in town. In February I will be certified as a USAT Level 1 coach and hope to use those skills to share my joy of the sport with others. As I grew in the sport I hired a USAT coach and that was one of the single most helpful things I did to grow as an athlete. Personally I have lost around 25 pounds since starting the sport. My desire is to see people fall in love with the sport of triathlon and work hard to achieve the goals they have set before them.

My first triathlon was the Wildflower Sprint in May 2013 and I have competed at Wildflower every year since. I have also competed at Pacific Grove, Millerton Lake, Huntington Lake, Shaver Lake, and the Esprit de She triathlon in San Diego. I have competed in the California Classic Metric, Valley Girl Metric, and the Bike the Coast Century, as well as various 5K races around the area. I joined TC3 in January 2014 and have enjoyed getting to know and training with the TC3 members. I would like to be part of the board because I feel it’s important not only to compete but to volunteer my time at events and support my teammates at races. I would like to help make TC3 a strong supportive environment for all level of athletes.

I enjoy being active and enjoy it even more with friends and family! I especially enjoy swimming, biking, running, basketball, hiking, softball, and Zumba! I am a nurse with plant based lifestyle.

I became a member of TC3 in 2015. I loved the encouragement and support I received from my teammates! Triathlons are much more fun when done with your team! I love the relationships I've built and the new friends I've made through the team! I want to encourage TC3 members to get connected with other members through training, triathlons, clinics and social events.

I have been a member of TC3 since my first triathlon in 2011. Through the support and encouragement of TC3 members, I graduated from Sprints to Olympics and now my new favorite distance, Internatonal or ½ Iron Man’s.

After running road races and trying a season of competive cycling, I found myself back at triathlons. The camaraderie of the sport and our team is a big part of racing. Hearing people scream your name or holding up signs like You Fast Like Ghandi make me remember I’m not alone on the course.

My sales job in animal health has me traveling a lot lately, so I would like to give back to a club that has been so motivatonal and encouraging to me, new members, and veterans of the sport. I would like to see our club continue to show people that anyone can do a triathlon and demonstrate how much fun you can have training and racing.
